Classics for Kids Project
Students are composing music digitally for Ms. Dale's music class. They will use the website "Classics for Kids" to compose their music. Each student must end their composition on a "G" note and be sure to click "Visual Aid" to help assist with each measure.

Who We Are
Students use interactive tools to discover information about our physical bodies: the functions of skin, muscles, and bones. They will also discover the impact our choices have on the health of our body. This unit focuses on students ability to use technology tools and skills to reinforce and extend classroom concepts and activities (Essential Standard - 5.TT.1).
Here you will learn how to use a word processor to create documents for school or other projects. You’ll learn to format fonts, add images and some really cool effects. When you are finished you will use "story generator" to create a unique story.
How the World Works
Students are studying weather patterns and phenomena. They will make connections to the weather in a particular place and time by collecting information about various natural disasters throughout the world from news sources. They will track the effects natural disasters have on the people involved and how communities around the world assisted those in need. (5.E.1, 5.P.2-3)
Wherever they are, people need water to survive. Not only is the human body 60 percent water, the resource is also essential for producing food, clothing, and computers, moving our waste stream, and keeping us and the environment healthy. Clean, safe drinking water is scarce. Today, nearly 1 billion people in the developing world don't have access to it. Students will be researching, creating, and promoting issues surrounding the global water crisis.
Force And Motion
Students are designing rovers to help NASA explore Pluto. The students will record their design in action and edit their video's in Movie Maker to promote their design to NASA. Students will use the links below to research various animals to help them learn about the Sciquarium experience. They will learn interesting facts about animals such as sharks, otters, stingrays, eels, turtles, and more! As they research they will test their knowledge by 'diving' into a similar ecosystem and identifying the animals they have learned about.
Hour of Code
Students will complete a Digital Passport for internet safety. They will also use Netsmartz to follow Clicky through NetSmartz to learn about internet safety. They will choose a video and play interactive activities on NetSmartz to learn more about staying safe while using the internet. Students will share what they learned with the class.
Movie Maker Intro
Students were introduced to Microsoft Movie Maker. They downloaded images from picsforlearning.com to create a movie about their interests. Students added music, transitions, effects, and text to their movie. Finalized movies are shared through the year to develop presentation skills.
